Peach Power Committee meeting notes: October 24, 2011 I. PP planning list a. Capital projects‐‐Overview of what we are able to do this year, and what is practical to do. i. Focus on expanding the PV Array 1. Paxton has a person who would be willing to manage the project. ii. George participated in doing some upgrades to solar roller. 1. Solar roller, in addition to being part of the Fair infrastructure, also educational. 2. Anna interested in financial foundation work for this project 3. Paxton: should be part of the site manager’s budget. iii. Solar thermal—can inform the budget committee that we have some technical support, and maybe we can support it financially through Peach Power? 1. Can make a demo project out of Energy Park. 2. Suggestion of a Solar Thermal Energy Kiosk iv. Replacing Fossil Fuels: as is v. Energy Efficiency 1. Difficult to staff.. 2. Anna suggested connecting with a consultant on this matter. 3. Paxton suggested that this would be a matter for the Board retreat. 4. George suggested that booths could give out info about energy use 5. May not be viable for this year, but for future. Also could be something where we use a contractor. 6. Need for paid staff person who is a volunteer facilitator a. Possible fundraising for that, Board needs to move into a more proactive place of supporting staff. vi. Invest in electric vehicle. Possible interest in electric tractor. vii. Propane expensive but viable. Anything else is 20 years out. viii. Possible fundraising/donor projects for Bubble Dishwashing Project ix. Mycoremediation—pushing to further that project. x. Composting toilets, Paxton has laid groundwork, multi year plan for budget committee, talk more at retreat. xi. Greywater is a priority, new eyes on Greywater project. xii. Transportation—add another shuttle.
