Board Candidate Info

This year’s deadlines are as follows:

Submit your candidate statement and all supporting documents: August 16, 2026, 8pm PDT*

Submit your OCF membership form: September 10, 2026, 8 pm PDT (if not already registered).

*Your statement must be RECEIVED by 8 pm sharp. If we receive it after 8 pm we will not be able to accept it. It is possible to announce candidacy after August 16, 2026, however the candidate statement will not be included in the voter info section in the Fair Family News. Late candidates also will not have their name on the ballot, which puts them at a disadvantage.

To be eligible for one of the open seats on the OCF Board of Directors, a candidate

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Must be a registered member of the Oregon Country Fair
• Must be eligible to vote in the current year’s election (must have received a wristband for one of the last three Fairs or be a registered Elder.)
• A person who meets the eligibility requirements may run from the floor at the Annual Meeting and/or as a write-in candidate. (See *note above.)

To apply:

• Submit a candidate statement by email (elections@oregoncountryfair.org) or to the OCF office (442 Lawrence St, Eugene, OR, 97401) by the deadline. Candidate statements are limited to 750 words. For purposes of this statement, a word is defined as any character or group of characters surrounded by white space – a bullet point is a word, for example.
• Submit your contact info (phone, mailing address, and/or email address) and stipulate which, if any, of that info you would like published in the Voter Pamphlet, the FFN, and on the elections page at oregoncountryfair.net. You may submit your preferred pronouns if you wish, but that is not required.
• Submit a headshot for publication in the FFN and on-line. The FFN would prefer photos be at least 300 dpi for a good resolution. If you submit more than one headshot we will use the first one, unless you stipulate a different one by the submission deadline.

Your candidate statement might include topics (none of these are required and this is not an
exhaustive list) such as:

• Experience with other non-profit organizations
• Special skills you have to offer
• Diversity, equity, and inclusion
• Emerald Ash Borer mitigation
• OCF population growth
• Attendance cap
• Why do you want to be an OCF Board Director

The Election Committee does not correct candidate statements for spelling, grammar, or punctuation. We recommend that you submit your candidate statement as early as possible, as we try to review the statements and notify the submitters if there are any problems prior to the deadline.

Plan to attend the Candidate Forum on September 27, 2026 and the Annual Membership meeting on October 10, 2026, where you will have the opportunity to address the membership and answer questions. You will get more information about the forum from the Get Out the Vote team after you submit your candidate statement.

Newly-Elected Director Certification – Oregon Country Fair Bylaws (pg 8, Sec. 2, Sub. e)

e.)Term: Each Director shall serve for three years or until their resignation or removal, whichever occurs first. These three-year terms shall be staggered, with one third of total seats to be filled by a vote of the membership each year. The term of office of newly  is certified by the Membership
Secretary and the Treasurer(s).

Ballots will be counted on October 18, 2026. The election certification is currently set for October 18, 2026.
