TAG BEFORE YOU PITCH!

Every dwelling must have an OCF tent tag. Tent Tags are available from your Camp Host
in the organized camping areas and the Camping Ambassadors, aka Tent Taggers at Re-solutions.
Registration may have some tent tags to distribute to booth reps for their campers.

Q: Will I be able to camp at Fair?
A: Yes! We pride ourselves on finding a home for everyone with an OCF wristband

Q: When can I camp at Fair?
A: All camping opens Wednesday before the Fair.
No overnight camping is permitted before then unless you are part of a pre-Fair working crew.
Booth people intending to camp while working on their booth during Main Camp must sign in with QuarterMaster.

Q: How does camping work?
A: Booth reps are responsible for assuring all booth members, especially new members, have a place to camp.
If you are part of a crew or entertainment, check in with your coordinator to see if they have space in a designated camping area.
Select a designated point person to coordinate camping for your group or booth.
Please use the space in your loft or behind your booth well. As space is tight in many areas, please bring an appropriately sized tent. We do not have room for palatial estates.

Q: Still don’t know where to camp?
A: There is an entire crew, Camping Crew, which helps all campers locate camping space. There is no self-selecting for camp space. The Camping Ambassadors, aka Tent Taggers staff the ReSolutions desk in Main Camp (around the corner from QuarterMaster) on weekends, and from Saturday, 7/6 until Wednesday/Thursday, July 10 & 11, when they move to Little Dragon Info booth. General hours are 9am to 9pm.

Q: Can I camp in my Vehicle?
A: Yes! Space is limited. Most RV, trailer, or van camping will happen in SCOF lot. SCOF lot opens at 9am Wednesday pre-Fair.
Only camping vehicles are allowed in vehicle camping areas and must have a Fair Vehicle Sticker. Vehicles over 22’ also require an Oversized Vehicle Sticker which costs an additional $125.
There is no car camping anywhere on site. All cars go to parking areas as directed by Traffic Crew.
Traffic Crew also requires cars to have a Fair Vehicle Sticker to park on site. Vehicles without a Fair Vehicle Sticker will be towed.

Q: What if I camp in my vehicle and have medical equipment that needs electric hook-up?
There is limited space in the Alter-Abled camping area for vehicles. We recommend you contact camping crew ahead of time to make arrangements.

Q: How do we make sure our tents are grouped together?
A: While we promise that everyone will have a place to camp; we cannot guarantee that large groups will be consolidated into one single camp.

  • It’s important to plan ahead, communicate, collaborate, and connect.
  • Get an idea as early as possible exactly what you and your booth workers, crew, group will need.
  • Have your folks camped at Fair before, and will they be able to camp there again? Many folks are already part of an (extended) family camp.
  • Once your point-person determines the exact needs of your group connect with Camping Re-solutions.
  • Be sure to select someone who is responsible/reliable and/or coming earliest to Fair.
  • One-year-only booth reps may contact the One-Year-Only Team from Registration who will help you connect with Camping Re-solutions if needed.

Q: What if I have a conflict with neighbors involving camping, booth space, or other placement issues?
A: Mediation Crew can be reached thru QM or email [email protected], to connect with the correct Conflict Resolution Resources.

A few things to keep in mind:

  • Patience, kindness, and flexibility are key to all camping experiences. We can’t promise to consolidate you and all your friends and workers into one camp. However, everyone will have a place to camp.
  • Not every camper may have space for a tent and an EZ-up. We will try our best to create common space among campers.
  • Pack it In. Pack it Out! Have you bought something new? Leave the packaging at home. If something breaks, take it home. If you brought it here in your car, it will still fit for the way home.
  • Remember how beautiful our land is and that people have been gathering here for at least 9000 years. If Bigfoot and Aliens can do it, so can you. Leave no trace.
  • Recycle daily. Do not wait until Monday morning.
  • A five-pound ABC fire extinguisher is required at every camp and self-contained camping vehicle.
  • Protect green zones. No brush cutting, raking, or digging is allowed. If you need to move duff, do so gently and remember to move it back before you leave – contact your CampHost or VegManECs if you have questions.
  • Personal camp toilets and pit toilets (holes dug in the ground for disposal of human or service animal waste) are not allowed on the OCF site! Violation of this guideline may result in probation and/or suspension.

Please review and share the Guidelines with your group: especially Camping at the Fair Site, Stewardship of the Land, and Fire.
