Alexis, our site manager, is inviting all Fair Family to join him on a walk around site to learn more about the Ash trees and the threat of the Emerald Ash Borer to our canopy.

Join the Oregon Country Fair, Oregon Department of Forestry’s Urban and Community Forestry Program, and Valley Environmental for a live air curtain incinerator (ACI) demonstration and discussion on Friday, October 24th.  We will be demonstrating the ACI’s role in fuels reduction, wood waste management, the control of pests and pathogens like emerald ash borer, biochar creation, as well as the benefits of ACI’s as a lower-pollution alternative to open burning. Experts will be available to answer your questions on these topics.

Interested but not able to attend this event? Consider the Salem ACI demo on Weds, Oct 15th. Information about November demonstrations near LaPine and Chiloquin will be available soon.

Please wear weather appropriate clothing and shoes. We also suggest checking back on this post for weather related updates. The site walk could be cancelled due to bad weather.
